Court of Achievers Principles

Court of Achievers network (consisting of and other COA branded URLs, collectively “COA” or the “Website”) was built to make it easy to share information with other Court of Achievers Members and people around you. We understand you may not want everyone in the world to have access to the information you share on or through COA; that is why we give you control of your information. Our default privacy settings limit the information displayed in your profile to your networks and other reasonable community limitations.

In connection with COA, we follow two core principles:

1. You should have control over your personal information.

COA helps you share information with your friends and people around you. You choose what information you put in your profile, including contact and personal information, pictures, interests and groups you join. You have access to edit this information as needed. And you control the Users (as defined below) with whom you share that information through the privacy settings on the Privacy Settings page.

2. You should have access to the information others want to share.

There is an increasing amount of information available on COA, and you may want to know what relates to you, your friends, and people around you. We want to help you easily get that information.

Sharing information on or through the COA Services should be easy and we want to provide you with the privacy tools necessary to control how and with whom you share that information. If you have questions or ideas, please email us at

Court of Achievers Privacy Policy

Effective March 9, 2009:

The Privacy Policy is designed to help you understand how we collect and use the personal information you decide to share on or through the COA Services, and help you make informed decisions when using the COA Services. The Privacy Policy can be found at the Website.

By using or accessing the Website, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Circle of Achievers, LLC, a Texas limited liability company, operates Court of Achievers (“COA”). References in this Privacy Policy to “we,” “us,” and “our” refers to Circle of Achievers, LLC, a Texas limited liability company.

This Privacy Policy describes our use and sharing of personally identifiable information that Members voluntarily provide when they register on COA (also known as “PII”).

The Term “User” refers to a Visitor or a Member.

This Privacy Policy applies to the services offered through COA, including the Website, the COA instant messaging service, the COA application developer service and other features (for example, music and video embedded players), and any other features, content, or applications offered from time to time by us in connection with COA (collectively, the “COA Services”).

The COA Services are hosted in the United States.

The Website is a subscription-based site specifically serving consultants and does not knowingly collect PII from children under 18 years of age.

From time to time, we may modify this Privacy Policy to reflect industry initiatives or changes in the law, our PII collection and use practices, the features of the COA Services, or technology. If we do this, we will post the changes to this Privacy Policy on this page and will indicate at the top of this page the date these terms were last revised. Such modifications shall be effective at the time they are posted on the Website. Your continued use of the COA Services after such changes to the Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the new Privacy Policy. It is your responsibility to regularly check the Website to ensure you are updated about changes to this Privacy Policy and to review such changes. If we materially change our practices regarding collection or use of your PII, your PII will continue to be governed by the Privacy Policy under which it was collected unless you have been provided notice of, and have not objected to, the change.

1. The Information We Collect

When you visit COA, you provide us with two types of information:

  • PII you knowingly choose to disclose that is collected by us; and
  • Use information collected by us as you interact with our Websites.

When you register with COA, you voluntarily provide us with certain Registration PII, such as

  • your name
  • your email address
  • your telephone number
  • your address
  • any other personal or preference information that you provide to us.

We may also collect PII from you if you choose to participate in COA Services activities like sweepstakes, contests, and surveys, because you want us to furnish you with products, services, newsletters, or information, or in connection with content or suggestions you submit to us for review.

Members may also choose to provide or store non-PII information in their profiles, including but not limited to:

  • date of birth
  • interests
  • hobbies
  • lifestyle choices
  • groups with whom they are affiliated (activities, companies)
  • videos and/or pictures
  • private messages
  • bulletins or personal statements (collectively “Profile Information”).

The Profile Information in a Member’s profile is provided at his or her sole discretion.

Members can change their PII and Profile Information at any time and can control how Visitors, other Members and we communicate with them by controlling their account settings, available within the “Edit Profile” portion of their profile. Learn more about Privacy Settings.

2. Notification about the PII information we collect

When you voluntarily provide PII to us, we will inform you about who is collecting the information, how and why the information is being collected and the types of uses we will make of the information to the extent it is being used in a manner that differs from what is allowed pursuant to this Privacy Policy.

At the time you provide your PII, we will notify you of your options regarding our use of your PII (See item 7. below). Except as described in this Privacy Policy, we will not share your PII with third parties unless you have given us permission to do so (See item 6. below).

When you enter COA, we collect your browser type and IP address. This information is gathered for all Visitors. In addition, we store certain information from your browser using "cookies." A cookie is a piece of data stored on the User's computer tied to information about the User. We use session ID cookies to confirm that Users are logged in. These cookies terminate once the User closes the browser. By default, we use a persistent cookie that stores your login ID (but not your password) to make it easier for you to login when you come back to COA. You can remove or block this cookie using the settings in your browser if you want to disable this convenience feature. However, by blocking all cookies you may not have access to certain features on COA.

Third party advertisements displayed on COA may also contain cookies set by Internet advertising companies or advertisers (known as “third party cookies”). We do not control these third party cookies and Users should check the privacy policy of the Internet advertising company or advertiser to see whether and how it uses cookies. See the “Notice” section below for more information on customized advertising on COA. We may allow third party pixel tags to be present on COA for purposes of advertising, providing services or data and statistics collection. A pixel tag is a tiny image inserted in a webpage and used to record the number and types of views for that page.

When you use the COA Services, you may

  • set up your personal profile;
  • form relationships;
  • send messages;
  • perform searches and queries;
  • form groups;
  • set up events;
  • add applications;
  • transmit information through various channels.

We collect this information so that we can provide you COA Services and offer personalized features. In most cases, we retain it so that, for instance, you can return to view prior messages you have sent or easily see your friend list. When you update information, we usually keep a backup copy of the prior version for a reasonable period of time to enable reversion to the prior version of that information.

You post User Content (as defined in the COA Terms of Service) on or through the COA Services at your own risk. Although we allow you to set privacy options that limit access to your pages, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. We cannot control the actions of other Users with whom you may choose to share your pages and information. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that User Content you post on or through the COA Services will not be viewed by unauthorized persons. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Website. You understand and acknowledge that, even after removal, copies of User Content may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or if other Users have copied or stored your User Content.

Any improper collection or misuse of information provided on or through the COA Services is a violation of the COA Terms of Service and should be reported via email at

If you choose to use the COA invitation service to tell a friend about COA, we will ask you for information needed to send the invitation, such as your friend's email address. We will send your friend an email or instant message in your name inviting him or her to visit the site, and may send up to two reminders to them. We store this information to send invitations and reminders, to register a friend connection if your invitation is accepted, to allow you to see invitations you have sent, and to track the success of our referral program. Your friend may contact us via email at to request that we remove this information from our database.

We may also collect information about you from other sources, such as newspapers, blogs, instant messaging services, and other Users of the COA Services through the operation of the COA Services (e.g., photo tags) in order to provide you with more useful information and a more personalized experience.

By using the COA Services, you are consenting to have your personal data transferred to and processed in the United States.

3. Use of Information Obtained by COA

When you register on COA, you create your own profile and privacy settings. Your profile information, as well as your name, email and photo, are displayed to people in the networks specified in your privacy settings to enable you to connect with people on COA. We may occasionally use your name and email address to send you notifications regarding new COA Services that we think you may find valuable.

Profile information is used by us primarily to be presented back to and edited by you when you access the COA Services and to be presented to others permitted to view that information by your privacy settings. In some cases where your privacy settings permit it, other Users may be able to supplement your profile.

Profile information you submit to us will be available to Users who belong to at least one of the networks you allow to access the information through your privacy settings (e.g., geography, friends of friends). Your name, network names, and profile picture thumbnail will be available in search results across COA and those limited pieces of information may be made available to third party search engines. This is primarily so your friends can find you and send a friend request. People who see your name in searches, however, will not be able to access your profile information unless they have a relationship to you (friend, friend of friend, member of your networks, etc.) that allows such access based on your privacy settings.

You may receive service-related announcements from time to time through the general operation of the COA Services. For instance, if a friend sends you a new message, you may receive an email alerting you to that fact.

Generally, you may opt out of such emails on your My Account page, though we reserve the right to send you notices about your account even if you opt out of all voluntary email notifications.

We may use information in your profile without identifying you as an individual to third parties. We may do this for purposes such as aggregating how many people in a network like a product and personalizing advertisements and promotions. We believe this benefits you. Where there are advertisements, they're more likely to be interesting to you.

We may use cookies and similar tools to customize the content and advertising you receive based on the Profile Information you have provided. Profile Information you provide in structured profile fields or questions, information you add to open-ended profile fields and questions (essay questions like “My I Story,” “Family” and “My Dream”) (“Non-Structured Profile Information”) and other non-PII about you may also be used to customize the online ads you encounter to those we believe are aligned with your interests. The information used for this feature does not provide your PII or identify you as an individual to third parties. If you would like to disable advertising customization for Non-Structured Profile Information, please contact us at

We may use information about you that we collect from other sources, including but not limited to newspapers and Internet sources such as blogs, instant messaging services, COA Platform developers and other Users, to supplement your profile. Where such information is used, we generally allow you to specify in your privacy settings that you do not want this to be done or to take other actions that limit the connection of this information to your profile.

COA may be linked to Internet sites operated by other companies. COA may also carry advertisements from other companies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of websites or other services operated by third parties that are linked to or integrated with COA or for the privacy practices of third party Internet advertising companies. Once you leave COA via such a link, access a third party application or click on an advertisement, you should check the applicable privacy policy of the third party or advertiser site to determine, among other things, how they will handle any PII they collect from you.

COA may also contain links to sites operated by companies offering related services. Those visiting outside websites should refer to that website's separate privacy policies and practices, which may differ in some respects from this Privacy Policy.

4. Use of PII

We will only use the PII you provide under this Privacy Policy in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy. If we obtain PII from a third party, such as a business partner, our use of that information is also governed by this Privacy Policy.

In order to locate other COA Members that you may already know in the physical world, COA allows Users to search for Members using Registration PII (i.e., full name or email address). COA also allows Users to browse for certain Profile Information in order to help connect with Members. COA may also enable Members to publicly display some Registration PII as an element of their Profile Information if they choose to do so via a profile setting under “Edit Profile.” Search engines may index the portion of a Member’s profile (including the Profile Information it contains) that is publicly displayed.

Our employees, agents and contractors must have a business reason to obtain access to your PII. We may share your PII with those who help us manage or provide COA’s information activities (for example, message board administration, order fulfillment, statistical analyses, data processing), or with outside contractors, agents or sponsors who help us with the administration, judging and prize fulfillment aspects of contests, promotions and sweepstakes.

These outside contractors, agents or sponsors may temporarily store some information on their servers, but our agreements with these third parties provide that they may only use your PII to provide us with a specific service and not for any other purpose. We may also provide your PII to a third party in those instances where you have chosen to receive certain information and have been notified that the fulfillment of such a request requires the sharing of your PII. We also may share your PII with companies offering related services if we have a business reason to do so.

As described in item 5 above, we may customize the advertising and marketing messages you receive on the Website, or may work with outside companies to do so. Your non-PII and/or Profile Information may be shared with these companies so this customization can be accomplished. Our agreements with these third parties prohibit them from sharing your non-PII and/or Profile Information with any third party or from using it for any other purpose. Anonymous click stream, number of page views calculated by pixel tags, and aggregated demographic information may also be shared with our advertisers and business partners.

There may be instances when we may access or disclose PII, Profile Information or non-PII without providing you a choice in order to:

  1. protect or defend our legal rights or property, those of Court of Achievers or our employees, agents and contractors (including enforcement of our agreements);
  2. protect the safety and security of Users or members of the public including acting in urgent circumstances;
  3. protect against fraud or for risk management purposes; or
  4. comply with the law or legal process.

In addition, if we sell all or part of our business or make a sale or transfer of all or a material part of our assets or are otherwise involved in a merger or transfer of all or a material part of our business, we may transfer your PII to the party or parties involved in the transaction as part of that transaction.

When a Member who is located in the European Union (“EU”) chooses to post Profile Information that will be publicly disclosed, that Member is responsible for ensuring that such information conforms to all local data protection laws. We are not responsible under the EU local data protection laws for Member-posted information.

5. Your choices regarding how your PII is used

Except as described in this Privacy Policy, we will get your permission before we use the PII you provide to us in a way that is inconsistent with the purpose for which it was submitted or share your PII with third parties that are not affiliated with us.

6. Sharing Your Information with Third Parties

COA is about sharing information with others — other consultants and clients in your networks — while providing you with privacy settings that restrict other Users from accessing your information. We allow you to choose the information you provide to friends and networks through the COA Services. Our network architecture and your privacy settings allow you to make informed choices about who has access to your information. We do not provide contact information to third party marketers without your permission. We share your information with third parties only in limited circumstances where we believe such sharing is:

  1. reasonably necessary to offer the COA Services
  2. legally required or
  3. permitted by you.

7. Links

COA may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other web sites. We encourage our Users to be aware when they leave our site to read the privacy statements of each and every website that collects personally identifiable information. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by us.

8. Third Party Advertising

Advertisements that appear on COA are sometimes delivered (or "served") directly to Users by third party advertisers. They automatically receive your IP address when this happens. These third party advertisers may also download cookies to your computer, or use other technologies such as JavaScript and "web beacons" (also known as "1x1 gifs") to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to personalize advertising content. Doing this allows the advertising network to recognize your computer each time they send you an advertisement in order to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to personalize advertising content. In this way, they may compile information about where individuals using your computer or browser saw their advertisements and determine which advertisements are clicked. We do not have access to or control of the cookies that may be placed by the third party advertisers. Third party advertisers have no access to your contact information stored on COA unless you choose to share it with them.

This privacy policy covers the use of cookies by us and does not cover the use of cookies or other tracking technologies by any of our advertisers.

To opt out of information collection by these companies, or to obtain information about the technologies they use or their own privacy policies, please notify us via email at

9. Changing or Removing Information

Access and control over most PII on COA is readily available through the profile editing tools. Users may modify or delete any of their PII at any time by logging into their account. Information will be updated immediately. Individuals who wish to deactivate their COA account may do so on the My Account page. Removed information may persist in backup copies for a reasonable period of time but will not be generally available to Members.

If you ask us to stop using your PII, we will honor that request while retaining any record of your PII that is necessary to comply with applicable federal, state or local law.

Where you make use of the communication features of COA to share information with other individuals on COA, however, (e.g., sending a personal message to another User) you generally cannot remove such communications.

10. Accessing, correcting or changing your preferences regarding your PII

Whenever possible, Members may review the PII we maintain about them in our records. We will take reasonable steps to correct any PII a Member informs us is incorrect. If you are a Member, you can view and change your PII, Member preferences and Profile Information by logging into your account and accessing features such as “Edit Profile” and “Account Settings.”

11. Security

We take appropriate precautions to protect Users' information. We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, personnel and physical measures to safeguard PII and credit card information in our possession against loss, theft and unauthorized use, disclosure or modification. In addition, we use reasonable methods to make sure that PII is accurate, up-to-date and appropriately complete.

Your account information is located on a secured server behind a firewall. When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card number or your password), we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). (To learn more about SSL, go to Because email and instant messaging are not recognized as secure communications, we request that you not send private information to us by email or instant messaging services. We will notify Users and the appropriate law enforcement authorities as soon as possible following the time that we become aware of any breach of our security measures that might reasonably lead to the misuse of PII. If you have any questions about the security of COA, please contact us.

12. Terms of Use, Notices and Revisions

Your use of the COA Services, and any disputes arising from it, is subject to this Privacy Policy as well as our Terms of Service and all of its dispute resolution provisions including arbitration, limitation on damages and choice of law. We reserve the right to change our Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service at any time. Non-material changes and clarifications will take effect immediately, and material changes will take effect within 30 days of their posting on COA. If we make changes, we will post them and will indicate at the top of this page the policy's new effective date. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here, by email, or through notice on our home page. We encourage you to refer to this Privacy Policy on an ongoing basis so that you understand our current Privacy Policy. Unless stated otherwise, our current Privacy Policy applies to all information that we have about you and your account.
